Competitors: MBA students from the top business programs worldwide compete. Previous teams have come from all over the U.S. as well as Hong Kong and Thailand.
When the Lindquist Center for Entrepreneurship (LCE) was founded in 1989 entrepreneurship centers were in short supply. Investment competitions were nearly non-existent. Thus the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship pioneered the New Venture Championship competition as an extension of its leadership.
The first New Venture Championship competition was held in a classroom at the University of Oregon. Only three teams participated and the grand prize was less than $300. In the span of 20 years, 1300-plus student competitors and 1000-plus judges and faculty have taken part in NVC.
The LCE continuously ranks as a top 25 graduate school programs out of over 2,500 schools polled by Princeton Review. The LCE is proud to celebrate the role the NVC has played in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit at the University of Oregon, and other reputable higher education institutions across the globe.NVC continues to be the nexus of entrepreneurial drive in the Oregon investment community by fostering innovation for the next generation of business leaders.
